Preparing strawberries
St. Teresa wanted her Nuns to be friends with God
and with one another in COMMUNITY:
“All must be friends, all must love one another,
all must be cherished, and all must help one another.”
We have all received the same divine call
to live together in sisterly love,
forming a family . . .
It thus makes visible
God’s love for all his creatures . . .
and [is] a striking witness to the
Good News of love, justice and peace.
Declarations 5:75
Community life is based on the early Christian community where all things were held in common. It is also much more. As we share our lives–day in and day out–there is also a sense of family. Together we support one another as we journey together in our life of faith.
While our days are a rhythm of prayer and work, we also know how to have fun! Each year we have special days of celebration. One of these days is the Presentation of Mary on November 21st. The white veils, those in formation, plan a special meal and entertainment for the communtiy.
